Quick Fast Forward from then to NOW.

So after reading Kate's blog. I decided I should start my own. Thanks KATE!

I got accepted to work at the most magical place in the world. DISNEYWORLD. It has always been a dream of mine and it feels amazing to say that I am going to accomplish it. So to sum up everything that has happened from the beginning till now.

The application process

Shortly after graduating from University I stumbled over the Disney International Program website and found the email address to yummyjobs. I then worked on a proper resume for this program as my theatre one probably wouldnt work so well. So I sent the resume off along with a short cover letter. A few days later I got an email saying thanks for applying we will be in contact. A while later I got a phone call for a phone interview. Kristen was the one on the other end of the phone. The phone interview was alot of fun, I just felt like I was chatting with a friend. A week or so after the phone interview, I received an email stating that I made it to the next round of the process. The FACE 2 FACE interviews.

F2F

So all the people who were asked to the face 2 face interviews were given the chance to share our email addresses with other applicants. I decided why not? Gave me a chance to meet some of the other people in the same boat as me. After many many introduction emails, a small group of us decided to meet the night before for dinner. Since I was the home town girl. I made the reservation at Moxies. We had 2 tables and 12 of us showed up which was amazing. We had a great time talking about Disney, our interests, our home towns. It made it much easier the next morning when you knew some of the faces walking through the door. I of course, as always, was the first person there. What else is new? Slowly but surely all the dinner people walked through the door and I felt much better. When it got close to that TIME, we all filled into a small hallway. Kate and I sat together in the front row cause I wanted to be able to see the presentation and not all the heads of other applicants. There were 3 trivia questions with prizes and I got one. A cute magnet! Roger was the person giving the presentation and he was amazing. So bubbly. So amazing. So much FUN! After the presentation a group of us went to the restaurant for lunch while Kate had her interview right away (lucky girl). After waiting a long time I got my chance for my interview. Doing an interview in pairs... not as easy as 1 on 1s. Best advice I could give is actually listen to the other person when they are speaking. Dont interupt. And SMILE!

The waiting game

Ok the worst part of the whole application process is the waiting between the interview and the call. 2 weeks of my life that I checked my email every 5 mins. The worst part was after the first week I got a call from the Cruise Lines saying I got the job and my start date was Nov 19. I told them I would call them back in the morning. After talking to my parents, I decided that I needed to go with my heart and hope that I got the disney job. I called the Cruise Lines and told them I couldnt accept the job offer. The next week was more painful that the first, knowing if I didnt get the Disney Job I was completely out of luck. November 11! So I was at work at 3:30pm when my cell phone went off. It was my brother saying Disney just called and they were calling back at 5. So panic and nerves flowed through my body and I ran out of work so fast I left my boss smiling. I got home ASAP and sat beside the phone. 5pm came and went. So I called Kristen telling her I was returning her call. Finally a few minutes later I got the Call.

I got the JOB!

First I paniced that it was the Thank you for applying but we arent interested call. Until the word congradulations. Then the water works started. Kristne talked about my start date (March 24th 2009) , position, fees, etc. After that she asked if I wanted to accept. I could barely talk I was in such shock. I blurted out "yes of course!" and she was answered "you will get a package in the mail soon."

Since the call.

Found the most amazing website ever ... www.wdwip.com Anyone interested in the program this the best place to meet people who are applying, those who are waiting to start, those that are there, and those that wish they were still there.

Found out that Cal and Kate from Dinner at Moxie's starts the SAME day as I do. Kate and I are even on the same Plane. Which is amazing so we can travel to Vista together.
